California Prop 65 Information

Upon receiving your new Home Creative furniture, you may notice the following warning on your product:

“This product may contain chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects.”

Although you may find this concerning, we want to reassure you about the reason for this warning.

In 1986, California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (commonly known as “Proposition 65”) due to growing concerns about drinking water contamination from toxic chemicals. Since then, California has expanded Proposition 65 significantly in an effort to warn consumers in California about the potential presence of certain chemicals in common consumer products—including food, automobiles, and furniture.

There are currently over 800 chemicals for which Proposition 65 requires a warning label, and the reportable levels of these chemicals are far below hazardous levels. Warnings are required even when actual consumer exposure to such chemicals during normal use is uncertain, as is the case with Home Creative products.

Because Proposition 65 requires a warning label on all products shipped to California—and because Home Creative does not know where each product will ultimately be shipped—each Home Creative product is labeled with a Proposition 65 warning.

While these warnings are important, Home Creative assures you that every product we make is designed and manufactured with the highest standards of safety, quality, and craftsmanship. All Home Creative products comply with applicable U.S. and international safety standards.

As always, Home Creative thanks you for your business. Your continued trust in our brand allows us to remain a leader in quality, comfort, and design for many years to come.
